We were invited to present at a seminar organized by groups from Sapienza University of Rome, and the universities of Freiburg, Groningen, andĀ Stuttgart. Francesco, Wissam, and Matteo have visited the beautiful Gaeta and talked about curriculum learning, learning for manipulation in clutter, and hybrid methods for planning and reinforcement learning.
Matteo is giving a talk for a Pint of Science to a general audience, on his research on decision making and reinforcement learning. The talk will be on Monday 14th of May, at Pieminister in Leeds, for more information click here. Come learn about our latest research towards Sensible Robots!
We have been successful in securing a Laidlaw Scholarship, which allows a talented first-year student to join the group over the Summer both this year, and next year. We received many high-quality applications, and the decision has been difficult, but we are happy to announce that Ashley Oldershaw has won the scholarship and started working...
We have our first non-human member! TIAGo is a mobile manipulator made by Pal Robotics. It will be our primary platform for research on service robotics, human-robot interaction, life-long learning, robot manipulation... and possibly more. We are all very excited about this new addition, and can't wait to start programming it!
